Some skills

Some successful life skills are talents that come to people naturally. Skills like cleaning, reading, seeing and problem solving. The way people manage their time is important. Time has everything to do with the job or career that you choose to do. Its about how long is it going to take for you to accomplish a goal or learning new abilities. Helping others is a life skill like training people to use a computer or teaching them a new program. Other skills are like managing your money, making new friends or co-workers and keeping you’re them. Learning to fix things taking calculations on how things should go and be done. What is safe and good for people to do/use. It is also about learning new skills that will better your speech, performance and mentally. You also may want to have skills in which you can contribute to your community because you may never know when you may need them depending what they are. Managing your money is very imperative. You need to have a list like a check book

First Day

On the first day of our CEP course I was already in a bad mood. I had to register for a another course that was mandatory for this class. I did not know and I had to rush before they would close the offices in the c-building. I was late for my Fundamentals of Professional Advancement course. The professor was cool though he explained to us what this course was about and what we should expect to do while in CEP. Professor William Beaufort told us to get up and sit in a round circle. Then he told us this was one activities that he had for us before class was over. We had to say our name, our major and career motivation/ goals. Most of my class mates knew what they wanted to do and others wanted a better job that paid better. Others had work experience and wanted to become more professional by coming back to school pursuing their college degree. Myself I knew what I wanted to be now that I had something that I knew I could improve. I knew that I wanted to work with children

Activity 2.1

I want to be a mentor for many people to gain knowledge of what Developmental disability is? It is not just about children who are mentally challenged but as well as different kinds of disabilities like learning, mobility, self-care, self direction. This happens affects them daily and the way they function. Ten years from now I see myself teaching children and moving up to adolescents and teens. Maybe I will teach in New York still and have other people there teaching. The people around me are people who are dedicated and have the patience and the ability to want to teach the less fortunate. I want to have a recognitions over others, and contribute to the state of their condition. The rewards that I would receive is the happiness and the smile on the children’s face. Just for them to know, that I care about them and that I find this satisfying. I see people around having a positive out look on life for these children. I see myself successful even though its taking time. I love tea

Chapters 2 and 3.

Chapter two and three they both are more on your career satisfaction, Personal Development, and personality types. When you pick a career you have to pleased with your choice because then you will never be satisfied, you want a occupation that is about yourself like your personality. It is about the requirement tat are set for a specific job. I feel in chapter two though it was about values and about our own personal identities and in chapter three it was about skills in personal identity. In chapter three, it about the abilities that one has acquired. Also the ability, to learn new skills to bettering their options. In addition, you have to understand if what fits best in your workplace and those that work around you as well. When I first started at LaGuardia I was going to become a Spanish teacher because I knew that it was a language that I could speak, understand, read, and write. But, before that I wanted to study something with business because I was in a technical school. There

Career Dilemma

There are five different kinds of components that one may need in order to stay in a good career path. These are the environment, income, hiring outlook, psychical demands, and stress. The environment is how one responds in areas of traveling, confinement, and the amount of hours that they work. How does one get to their work place and is it a problem for them. Depending on the job that you have it might take you long hours to get to occupation. You have to understand as well that when you get to your work place does it feel like you are trapped or do you feel that you have breathing space. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable in the place that you spend so much time in. How about the stress level rising? Is work your stress? This can lead one to end up with high blood pressure in the future. This may lead to problems mentally and psychically. It can also cause problems for your job. Everyone wants to have a superior career in which they can make currency especially for those who take

Welcome

Whoopie Do! Today we did our 1st new blog for our CEP 121. class. Hopefully the professor does not give us too much homework because this is the only class that I've got. This is the beginning of our new class and I can wait to meet people. This class is very diverse and its interesting because I’m not used to having a class like this. This class is about a preparation for our career and future. Not just that but to help us develop a plan and idea. It is a preparation for us to learn and keep for life. I hope that this class will help me develop new skills and benefit me for my career because I feel this class will be good but will also be straight up.
